Classroom Operations
Expectations
Students will have some input in creating the classroom rules. I will post them once their ideas have been shared and the list is agreed upon.
My expectations are based around respect
-Respect for themselves
-Respect for everyone else
-Respect for the room and its contents, and its purpose

I always hated being absent from school.
Not because I loved school or missed being there,
but having to make up the work that I missed drove
me crazy. In my room there is a folder for all absent
work. We had this last year, and this year I am even planning on a student being in charge of writing the
names of absent students on the papers for them.
If Absent:
1. Enter the room, look in the absent folder for any
work that you missed.
2. If there is none, or you have questions ask a friend.
Maybe there was a video or presentation you'll have
to watch in A-lab
3. If you have any questions or need help, come to my class during A-Lab, or in class when appropriate.

No Name Papers
This is an issue teachers often differ on. Do you give them a zero? Do you you pace around the room showing each student the paper?
My Policy
-There is a space labeled "No Names" on my whiteboard.
- After grading/ passing back student work, all papers without names are hung up
-If a student claims a paper on the day it is passed back they receive full credit.
-If a student claims a paper by the end of the 9 Weeks, they will receive partial credit
-Any unclaimed papers by the end of the 9 weeks remain "missing" resulting in a "Zero"
Late/Missing Work*
They are "due dates" now. They are "deadlines" when you are an adult. Assigments need to be completed to reinforce concepts before reviews, assessments, or just for the next step in the scaffolding ideas and content.
-Assignment not done for class? You can turn it in by the end of the day for full credit.
-I will give partial credit for assignments completed before the assessment over content.
-Once students have been assessed over the content, late/missing work will not be accepted.
